RELIGIOUS SOCIETY OF FRIENDS IN A NUTSHELL :
but being friends , I say to you “(John 15:15 ) Jesus said to his disciples , and this was the name of the religious community , which was founded in England in 1600 ‘s. In Finland, the Quakers have had since the 1930’s .
Everyone has the Quaker faith , to one God. We believe the guide , but exhilarating and internal lights, the divine seed that germinates and grows all of their innermost , which open onto this life force .
This is why we are all human beings with race, nationality, social class , or religious or political opinions. Men and women all have the same responsibilities and rights of the community. Priests and preachers is not .
Jumalanpalvelusmuotomme is a common prayer , which may occur in any of the newspapers .
The Community is not bound by dogmas and sacraments , as the Quaker belief that all life is sacred , that is, containing the divine . Life is an indivisible whole , and it is the heart of love. This is based on the Quaker active in peace work , social justice , and humanity . Cohesion with mankind is to be involved in the reconstruction of violence and accident -affected areas and provide input conciliatory and healing the broken , and a live to the world.
To paraphrase the Swedish Annual Meeting brochure translated by Maija Mäkelä
WELCOME TO YOUR FIRST WORSHIP!
You can sit down anywhere, but ovenvieruspaikat should be left free from the late future. An hour-long prayer begins, the person in charge of the silent clock pointing to the agreed start time.
Kveekariryhmän silence does not mean that the group would be active. On the contrary, kveekarihartaus is an intense looking. Friends gather in hopes of experiencing the presence of God and share their experience. The silence makes it possible to focus on the essence of God, and Jesus is the way they live and face death shows how God’s love is shown in people’s lives and how we should live for yourself. Silence gives an opportunity to listen to the voice of God within him. If you will not listen to people talk, can not hear what they say. The same is true in relation to God. You have to learn to listen!
NOT SENSATIONAL
Seen from the outside is a devotional meeting will be no kohahduttavaa. The program sermons and virsineen missing. But the internal level, something can happen. If you learn to be silent in the right way, it may get a clearer vision of God, and be able to better reflect the real values in life. Reverence searching for a connection with God ‘link and completely upon God’s care. When completed the internal light is perceived to have more space and a great life more clearly.
REACHING SILENCE
Lack of familiarity with silence, or some of the impressions of my wandering thoughts may interfere with the first few times. Do not let it stop, but to try again to return to your own inner quiet space where God is speaking to you. Almost all of the people are trying a once in a lifetime encounter with God – even those who have difficulty believing in God’s existence. God’s longing may be related to the strong joy or sorrow, or experience some kind of problem. No matter which dominates the thoughts and feelings at the moment, take them with a quiet devotion, and give them over to God.
TRYING TO UNDERSTAND
Experience of God’s presence may also occur in such a way that one or more participant in the meeting wants to share with others what his mind to fill places of worship. It is a matter for the Performing sacred, and all the participants at the meeting to receive a message of good will and understood by the mind. All the messages shown can help someone, even if they are just speaks to you. Our needs are different and must therefore be dealt with in different ways. Try to also include a spiritual purpose behind the words. The speaker wants to help the devotional message of the meeting. Spoken are not discussed, but the silence continues.
AFTER WORSHIP
The person in charge of the day breaks the silence hours, tackles his strike partner’s hand in greeting and gratitude by sharing the connection. Then, in particular, new visitors are greeted with a welcome message and explains things before the coffee hour. Visitors will enjoy happy to introduce themselves, ask questions and participate in an informal discussion interspersed with coffee. We understand, even if visitors wish to remain anonymous. No one gets hurt, even if you want to leave immediately after worship.
